"The collab that all others will be compared to."
I'd like to first off congratulate everyone who made it into this collab, what you've come together to make will be the collab that all others submitted to the will be compared to for the next few years. Its amazing how you've fit together so many different styles and made them mesh together, while keeping it all together in a storyline (albeit a very loose one)
The animations themselves were all top notch, and in some cases the best I've ever seen from a particular author and while all of them were not equally great I don't want be a dick and single anyone out, because they were still so great overall. The overall feel of the collab was very cool, an old school meets newschool mixup that never lost any of the charm of edge.
In terms of the seques between animations you did a great job, the only thing i can compare it to is Mr. Show, in the way it takes two unrelated concepts and leads one into another to create its own storyline its a fresh take on the idea of a collaboration and the way things were going innovation was sorely needed.
The music was a near perfect pick, in terms of cartoons it had a very old school feel that one would expect from the earliest cartoon while still having a timeless enough feel to complement all the animations.
Everyone participating in this did a great job and looking at this flash how can I not give it a 10 overall. Good work!

First problem that bothered me with this movie, music volume needs to go down and sound effects need to be turned up. Also, I can understand why you want to get new music for this. It definetly needs something more ambient that fits in with the atmosphere of the film.
I definetly felt a sort of dreaminess from this movie, where things happen with little to no explanation, but I do feel like you could have worked on making it a little more coherent and less random. I understand that he wanted revenge for his partner getting killed, but when he transformed into a werewolf, I should have been thinking "whoa cool" but instead it was more like "wait, he's a werewolf now?"
I did like the graphical style you were using, everything was dark and covered in shadows. You definetly succeeded in that area. The animation itself was a little bare, but it's still in the realm of perfectly acceptable.
Overall this was a very impressive and entertaining horror short.

You've definetly done good with this game, I've never played Raiden before, but you've definetly captured the frenetic style and action of classic acade shooters.
This game is really pretty, your ship, the enemies, the bosses, the giant, screen filling special attacks, you almost want to take a second from the action to get a good look at them . The one flaw in the graphics is the backroundsm while I never found myself botherig to look at them much, they were rather bland.
I didn't really find the music in this game to exciting, when I'm playing a shooter I like to listen to something that'll really pump me up and while the music in this game had an action-y feel to it, it also came off as sort of low key. The sounds were all rather generic shooter noises, but that of course is a very minor problem.
The gameplay is near perfect old school shooting fun. The controls are tight and the the enemies are are varied and fill the screen with bullets testing your ability to fly and shoot at the same time. The old school feel to it does hurt it as well though because its so straight forward. the whole of the game never goes beyond shoot everything and collect a few gems to get your guns to full power. I still loved the experiance though. Great game!
Author's Response:
I actually did make the background real complicated at first, but they seriously slowed down the game, so I fully optimised them. Well, I hope the lost quality is made up from the animation at the intro. =P
As for the music, I really liked it - maybe it's just my style of listening, but it creates a montage. Peaceful music on an extreme-shooting scenery - it kinda makes me think I'm in dreamland. :') But once again, that's just my opinion. I'm glad you liked it - and thanks for the review!

First of all before I start gushing over this game let me get two complaints out of the way.
Graphics, while most things like the backrounds and ships weren't terrible and at times they were rather good, the the characters were butt ugly. But seeing as they only popped up every now and then that wasn't a big problem.
The other problem, the storyline felt a little cliched and underdeveloped, but don't worry no one plays a shooter for the story.
The one reason anyone plays a shooter is for frenetic non-stop action and this game has it in spades. Constantly getting assaulted by tons of different enemies never got old throughout the game. Sure it was tough, but fortunately you were nice and gave us unlimited lives and checkpoints which saved me tons of frustration.
One of the best details was that throughout the game I found myself using each weapon at different times, while fighting one boss I was able to get close and hit him with all three shots from the pread gun while another forced me to stay back and use the rapid fire. None of the weapons was so strong that I ignored the other ones (although I did think that the triangle gun was a little too powerful).
The numerous and varied bosses and mini-bosses were a big plus for me. I never felt like I was fighting the same boss twice because they all attacked you in different ways forcing you to use different strategies to succeed making them all difficult in their own way, final boss was a bit of a push over though.
Last of all, good job with the choice of music, all the songs were great and fit the game perfectly.

When I read your description of this game I thought it was gonna be a lame ripoff of Ball, but it turned entirely different and just as good. I loved the way the gameplay is constantly changing, from simply rolling across the floor avoiding traps, to flying a helicopter, to a top down area where you need to trick stickmen into traps, I never got a chance to get bored because there were so many different things to do.
While I didn't mind the difficulty at all I did fell like the falling area and the part with the disapearing floors boiled down to just memorization rather than skill, although they were still enjoyable.
You would have easily gotten a 9 overall from me if the graphics were better, while it wasn't ugly by any means a couple nice backrounds would have went a long way.
Despite a few gripes this is a great game and I would love to see a sequel one day.

"A simple fun, but slightly flawed puzzle game."
I liked this, it's a fun easy to learn and play puzzle game that makes for a great time waster. My biggest problem with the whole game is that for most levels it boils down to a whole lot of trial and error. Even when you see exactly what you need to do to pass the level I ended up having to slowly perfect the timing of my drop and slowly make sure that I was in the right position to drop the ball. Not all levels felt like that, but the levels that did got very frustrating.
The graphics are simple, but fit in nicely with the style of the game so besides the fact that the back rounds lacked personality I really don't have any complaints. The music never bothered me but you might wanna add a toggle on/off button and a few extra songs for the people who do get tired of one song.
Despite the few problems you've made a very entertaining game that I'll probably be playing around with for the next hour or two.
Author's Response:
25 levels makes 1-2 hours of play? The the final 100 levels will be 4-8 hours!

What I loved the most about this game is that it not only throws an insane amount of action at you, but it rewards you for being able to make quick decisions while under fire. Should you go for the guy closing in on you, or attack a group of guys that are far away to get more points, are you in a situation where you need to use a bomb or should you save it for the tougher levels.
I like that, as you go through the game the levels get darker and the music gets more intense. The first few levels have simple bright backdrops but later levels have dark out of this world backrounds with intense pounding music.
While similar to the first Overrun the little improvements make this vastly superior, new and better enemies, great upgrade system, scoreboard. There are still a few improvements that could make the game better such as adding different hit zones for enemies, where shooting a stickman in the head would give you a one hit kill, but little things like that don't effect my opinion of this game at all.
Author's Response:
This man has a tactical mind =). Nice idea about hitzones, wouldn't be too hard to implement, but I don't know if there'll ever be an Overrun III... I have no plans for it right now. Thank you for the detailed review.

What I loved the most about this movie was the simplicity of every thing. The art, the music, even the message was simple enough to understand but powerful none-the-less. Everything in the film worked together, the graphics portraying a theme, the music changing to add emphasis. Short, but very sweet.

First of all the characters. The simple madness style works well in a single minded action cartoon, but in a story based movie the characters need to be more complex so the viewer can have more of an attatchment to them. As it is every character is almost indentiacal to every other character except for maybe a hat or hair.
I can understand the story not having much depth at this point because its the first episode in the series, but still nothing about it drew me in and I don't feel any anticipation for the next episode. The story needs a shot of originality, come up with some original dialogue of your own instead of using oneliners from Terminator. And while you're at it clean up the grammar and typos cause they really do hurt the movie.
I cant really complain about the graphics, they were all nice and clean, but I felt it was all too bright. The story revolves around two characters infiltrating a building and if the environment was darker it would really add to the intensity of the movie.
This movie could be really good, but the flaws it does have hold it back from being great.

"Better than all similar skate video."
I can tell that from all the skate videos I've seen that you've definetly made one of the best, but still, is is a little upsetting that the technique is no different than what is used in other skate videos, just more effort.
The skills video while not original is nicely done, graphically its better than most and the greater length and music is appreciated, but is still just a video thats been drawn over. Next time you should just try using a video for reference, it takes alot more look but it should result in a fresher more original look and feel.
The stick video was a nice edition that helped boost your score a little and on its own would probably be good enough to pass into the portal. Stiff animation and other basic stick film problems were there, but it was still a nice addition.
The tips section was alot more helpful than I thought it would be, I'm no skateboarder nor do I intend to be one, but I can see how that could help someone who was in need of basics.
Just a few extra notes, the menu while not perfect was nicely done and definetly more than you needed to do. The music was also rather fitting for the whole movie.
I wish I could give this movie a 7.5 cause I feel like I'm short changing you a little, still you've made one of the better, if not the best skate flashes and I hope you keep practicing different flash techniques.
