The Greatest Idea Ever!

"Billiant"

date: December 4, 2008

It's been a treat watching you improve over the years. The are plenty of people on Newgrounds who can draw and animate well and plenty who can make a halfway-compelling story, but being genuinely funny is one of the hardest skills to master. Every movie I see from you gets a little funnier, the jokes are delivered better, the timing gets a little more spot on, all without relying on any moments of "wacky randomness." If I could reach through my computer and pat you on the back I would. Thanks for making my day a little brighter every time you submit something.

Maze Man 2

"Fun game with some good ideas"

submission: Maze Man 2
date: November 22, 2008

I like a lot of what this game is doing, it has a lot of fun ideas that it brings to the table. I think the main fault of the game is that is doesn't take any of those ideas and run with as far as it can go. Puzzle aspects are introduced and they're never used as well as they could be to create some really devious mazes. As it was, though, it was still very entertaining. Enough so that I played through it again to see if I could squeeze my way to the top of the leaderboards.

I hope I get to see a Maze Man 3, it has tons of potential.

Andagel

"Excellent"

submission: Andagel
date: November 7, 2008

I think what this game does best is capture a sense of epic adventure. It starts off slow and then it continues to build and build with each sequence becoming more intense than the last. Really exciting stuff.

There were a few issues that could use ironing out. Movement feels a little slow, most of the time you're zipping along or riding on something so it's not a big deal, but it is noticeable. All enemy encounters are simplistic to the point where all you have to do is dodge left and right while jamming on the fire button. Moving felt more sluggish than usual at times when I was in combat, I think the issue was that dodging left and right also pushes you backwards so you end up scraping against the wall. It lead to a few frustrating deaths,

Sorry if I sound like I'm focusing on the negative. The game is really fun and it kept me captivate throughout. With a little polish the sequel could be even better.

-The Tower-

"Addictive"

submission: -The Tower-

Awesomely addictive game. It's quick, simple, and every time I die I want to go again because I know I can get a slightly better score if I play just one more time. It's exactly what a high score fest should be.

"Decent yet unoriginal"

date: October 11, 2008

You've done a decent job making a game similar to The Impossible Quiz. It's fine if you make a tribute game as long as you differentiate yourself with some fun and unique puzzles. The main problem with your version is that some of the puzzles are exactly the same as ones seen in The Impossible Quiz and the new ones you add aren't that interesting or challenging. The best one was the "don't touch this button" puzzle. It plays on your expectations, I expected it to be like the original one, and I was staring at the screen waiting fir it to turn while the solution was something completely different.

I'd like to see you spend a decent amount of time and come up with your own puzzles and riddles. It's not easy to make a great puzzle and you're not going to be able to make a full game overnight. You've proven that you have the technical skill to make your own Impossible Quiz, now you need to make it your own.

Video Games Tycoon

"A neat, but undeveloped idea"

submission: Video Games Tycoon
date: October 9, 2008

You've got the basic idea for a game down and it's fun to toy around with it for a while, but there's no risk and no reward and that's where the real sense of fun comes in. A time limit would force people to learn the system and play strategically for high scores and the possibility of losing money and failing would do the same. I like that it doesn't try to be to complicated, there's not a million different details to micromanage, but as it is it's only a decent shell of a game that has potential.

41st Reality

"Great game"

submission: 41st Reality
date: October 8, 2008

There's not really anything in this game that hasn't been seen already in similar shooters, but it's done so well that it's hard to complain. The controls are smooth the action is quick and the enemies are inventive and fun to blast. The vector style graphics are distinctive and stylistic. It's easy to get addicted to this game.

Glow Effect

"Distinctive and fun"

submission: Glow Effect
date: October 7, 2008

The idea of different geometric blocks in an Arkanoid type game is great. Even in the more tedious levels it still took concentration because your ball could be going anywhere. I also like the idea of locks, instead of being tedious it allows those who don't want to shoot for high scores to skip a little more quickly through the levels without hitting every single block. Level editors are always a great addition too, the levels were a little too few and it's cool to be able to make some more and see if you can top the main games design.

The power ups were a little by the books. You were going for a lot of innovation with this stye of game, but none of them were unique or original. It's a minor complain though since it's a fun game none-the-less.

"Great Morbid Fun"

date: October 6, 2008

Is it a commentary on the cold, gray, lonely and often alienating culture of our office culture. Maybe, but one thing's for sure, it's a damn fun game. You've hit a decent amount of puzzles and they're all pretty fun without getting overplayed. They make you think without having you pull your hair out. Good job, this is definitely a winner.

Meat Boy

"Great classic-style platformer"

submission: Meat Boy
date: October 6, 2008

It's a great game that reminds me the classic age of PC platformers such as Jerpack where game designers weren't trying to make every game mass appeal and really tried to kick gamers' asses. You took a simple concept and then slowly ramp the challenge up to 11 throwing everything and the sink at the player. Levels are consistently fresh, I never feel like I'm playing the same level over and over. You nailed a classic feeling yet it's still original and fun.
