This could be a interesting series. Just make sure you get someone good to do the voice acting I can easily see that ruin the whole experience.

I don't know if anyone pointed this out but as sonic was running and shadow was grinding the backround was going by them too slow making the characters seem slow when they should be going at some insane speed.

Your artwork is very clean but you should work on the characters animtions a little more. It was funny but the jokes could be refined a little more.

I understand exactly what you wanted to do. The only problem is that with no story to build up to a scene like that it loses its effect. But i enjoyed seeing a western themed movie on Newgrounds, there just aren't enough. I really like your style.

To keep the whole movie more interesting you might want to try a couple different camera angle and have some things in the backround even though you were being faithful to your reference material.

I'm usually nice about these kinds of things (wait no I'm not). But if there is a point to this its not worth watching even if you get it.
