The webcam I record from is really only designed to sit on a laptop close to someone's face for conversation so if you only hear the strumbar clicking and no music that's just because it doesn't pick up TV noise well unless it's blaring. If you hear nothing at all than yes, it's you.

I don't know. I've always been able to do it just fine so I don't have any tips for learning it. I guess you can try taking it into practice and keep doing it on the slower speeds to help build muscle memory for it. Or you can be like me and just ignore the song for a while. Eventually your hands will get faster and when you finally do come back you won't have any problems.
